Originally from Ghana-West Africa, Beatrice Atencah creates fiber sculpture and site-specific installation artworks that explores the nexus of fiber and metal sculpture in Africa & America, and the histories pertaining to cultural acculturation. Her artistic research delves into movement, transformation, and identity through hybrid traditional Ghanaian textiles and western influential materials.

Her exhibitions and curatorial projects span nationally across the U.S, Turkey and the U.K including “A Touch of healing”, a site specific installation owned by Eskenazi Health East 38th in Indianapolis, and “Interlacing in Textiles” which was recently on view at the Eskenazi Museum of Art in Bloomington, Indiana where she obtained her MFA in Studio Arts (Fibers).
